Old Age Pension Payment Dates 2026
Older Persons grant holders are always paid first — typically on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of each month. See our full SASSA Payment Dates 2026 guide for the complete schedule.
What If You Are in a Frail Care Facility?
If you live in a government-subsidised frail care facility, SASSA may deduct a portion of your grant to cover accommodation costs. The exact amount depends on the facility's fee structure. Speak to your SASSA case worker and the facility administration for details.
Can a Family Member Collect Your Grant?
Yes — a family member or caregiver can collect on your behalf if you have a SASSA procuration letter. Ask at any SASSA office for the form. Two witnesses must sign it. This arrangement is useful if you are frail, ill, or cannot travel to the payment point.
