SASSA Payment Schedule 2026: When Is Your Grant Paid Each Month?
SASSA pays different grants on different days of each month. Older Persons Grant recipients are paid first, followed by Disability Grant recipients, then Child Support and other grants. Knowing your payment date helps you plan your finances and avoid unnecessary trips to an ATM or pay point. This page explains the 2026 SASSA payment schedule and how payments work.
SASSA publishes exact payment dates each month. For the most current dates, visit www.sassa.gov.za or call 0800 60 10 11. Payment dates can shift when the 1st of the month falls on a weekend or public holiday.
How the SASSA Payment Schedule Works
SASSA staggers payments across the first few working days of each month to reduce congestion at ATMs and pay points. The payment order is always the same: Older Persons Grant first, then Disability Grant, then all other grants (including Child Support Grant and Foster Child Grant).
Payment dates are announced in advance each month by SASSA and are published on www.sassa.gov.za and the SASSA social media pages.
These are indicative dates based on past patterns. Exact dates may vary. Always confirm exact payment dates at www.sassa.gov.za or by calling 0800 60 10 11 before making travel arrangements to collect your grant.

SRD Grant Payment Dates
The SRD R370 grant does not follow the same monthly schedule as other SASSA grants. SRD payments are made after SASSA has verified your monthly eligibility and can arrive on different dates throughout the month.
You will receive an SMS notification when your SRD payment is approved and ready for collection. Check your status at srd.sassa.gov.za.
Ways to Receive Your SASSA Payment
- SASSA Postbank card at ATM: Withdraw from any ATM displaying the Mastercard logo, or use Postbank ATMs with zero fees.
- SASSA pay points: Collect cash at designated community pay points on your payment day. Find locations at www.sassa.gov.za.
- Bank account: SASSA deposits directly into your nominated bank account. Funds are available on your payment date.
- Cash send / mobile collection: Used for SRD grant when no bank account is registered. Collect cash at a Pick n Pay, Boxer, or other partner stores using a voucher number sent by SMS.
SASSA grants are sometimes targeted by scammers who send fake SMS messages claiming your payment is ready or asking you to verify your details. Never share your PIN or personal details in response to an unsolicited SMS. SASSA will never ask for your PIN.
Tips to Avoid Payment Day Problems

- If your payment does not arrive within two days of the expected date, call 0800 60 10 11.
- Keep your ID with you when collecting at a pay point.
